What is the Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI)?
What to expect
HASI provides flexible, community-based support to assist people to build independence in daily life and live well in the community.
HASI support may include:
- referrals to self-identified housing and health services
- assistance to attend appointments and treatments
- identifying an individual’s strengths and values
- assistance with education and employment goals
- assistance to participate in their community of choice
- working together to improve physical, social and emotional wellbeing
- practical support to gain/maintain independent living skills, including cooking, nutrition, budgeting, shopping, maintaining a home and using public transport.
People work with a team of support workers who regularly visit them in their home and/or local community. The type of support is flexible and designed to meet each individual’s needs.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for HASI support if you:
- are aged 16 or over
- reside in the local government area (LGA)
- have a mental health diagnosis that impacts your daily life
- are able and willing to engage in a flexible support program.
