Wadamba Wilam has picked up a ‘Highly Commended’ for the Community Award category at the recent Melbourne Health ‘2016 Celebrating Excellence Awards’ on Friday 25th November.
The Melbourne Health Celebrating Excellence Awards honours "the dedication and expertise of staff and volunteers who are making a difference, projects that have changed the way we work, and innovations which are delivering the best health care for the community."
Wadamba Wilam is a holistic program aimed at tackling homelessness within Melbourne’s Aboriginal population and demonstrates how a multidisciplinary team approach and positive collaboration can provide successful wrap-around services for consumers. Since its commencement in 2013, Wadamba Wilam has supported over 50 consumers and accessed secure housing for 20 consumers (with a 95% retention rate post 12 months).
