Neami National is committed to the development of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in order to continue building on practices and relationships that support better outcomes and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
The aim is to develop a national Reconciliation Action Plan that will:
- outline Neami National’s vision for reconciliation
- support current and future national and state based activities
- meet the requirements of endorsement by Reconciliation Australia
Reflecting on what reconciliation means to us as an organisation is an important part of the process in developing our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Recently staff and teams across Neami shared their reflections on ‘what does Reconciliation mean to me?’ by way of images, video, artworks and voice recordings.
A project steering committee including Aboriginal staff and consumers has been set up to drive the development of a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan. This Committee will now work to incorporate reflections from the Neami team and work in consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations to develop the RAP, for development in April.
