Pathways and Neami National are delighted to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding is under development to investigate the feasibility of Pathways services being transitioned to Neami National.
The Board of Directors and Leadership Teams of both organisations believe such a transition would be a great outcome for Pathways clients, their families and the Greater Geelong community.
The Pathways Board of Directors and Leadership Team have every confidence that Neami National is the right organisation to continue the provision of Pathways services. Neami National has a strong national presence and a reputation for quality and will ensure the longevity of quality mental health care within the Barwon region.
Since 2014, Neami has worked in the region with Barwon Health’s Prevention and Recovery Care Services, providing both bed-based and low-intensity outreach psychosocial and specialist recovery support. Through this work, Neami has built valuable relationships with Barwon Health clinical staff and Community Mental Health Teams in Colac, Corio, Geelong West, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine.
The Memorandum of Understanding would be a first step in a complex process and full due diligence will be applied before legal agreements can be finalised. This is a sensitive time for both organisations and key stakeholders – particularly consumers, their families, carers and staff. Together, Pathways and Neami National will work to support consumers, carers and staff. As we progress through the process, both organisations will continue to provide regular updates.
