Over 100 guests, including consumers, staff and partner organisations attended the Neami WorkWell graduation celebrations on 29th March in Sydney.
Based on the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, WorkWell is an evidence-based supported employment program that supports people living with a mental illness to seek and obtain competitive employment. The program supports participants with:
- identifying employment goals
- rapid job searches
- interview preparation
- transitioning to employment, and
- post-placement needs.
The graduation ceremony recognised the achievements of Work Well participants from five Neami services who have gained employment, volunteer work or enrolled in study and training courses. Jobs gained varied from Landscape Gardener, to Teacher, to Packer.
Jenny Hall, Neami Chief Operating Officer, and Peter Gianfrancesco, Neami NSW State Manager spoke about the national support for the growth of Neami’s employment services and the expansion of WorkWell services across Neami NSW.
